AWCHOP strives to ensure that the collective professional voice of the 22 Chief Housing Officers of Wales is facilitated and communicated to the stakeholders in the Welsh housing movement. Taking an overview of all housing services, it has a renewed focus on leadership, strategic planning, communication and information sharing.

In particular it aims to:

  • Be recognised as the consultation body for Welsh Chief Housing Officers
  • Develop and maintain a high profile for Local Authority housing services within Wales
  • Promote continuous improvement in the sector
  • Act as a scrutiny and discussion forum, reviewing and developing housing policy and influencing the work of bodies such as the Welsh Assembly Government and Welsh Local Government Association.
